Aubrey James

Community Support Worker

Aubrey James, BA, is a dedicated Community Support Worker at The Community Lighthouse, where her enthusiasm for mental health and her artistic talents converge to provide unique support to the children and families we serve. Aubrey’s commitment to her role is fueled by her passion for mental health and the brain, particularly the profound impact therapeutic work can have on children.

A lifelong resident of Albuquerque, Aubrey completed her undergraduate studies at the University of New Mexico, where she focused on interdisciplinary arts—a discipline she plans to integrate into her future career as an arts therapist. Currently, she is working towards her master’s degree and licensure in arts therapy, seizing the opportunity to gain invaluable experience in the mental health field.

Aubrey’s artistic side is a big part of her life; she enjoys painting, acting, singing, and has recently discovered a passion for crochet, finding it to be a therapeutic and joyful activity. Her belief in the healing power of art is something she eagerly brings into her work, aiming to teach children how to navigate their healing journeys creatively and positively.

At The Community Lighthouse, Aubrey’s blend of creativity, enthusiasm for learning, and dedication to helping others exemplifies our values of staying curious and investing in growth. Her work with children not only empowers them but also enriches their lives, making a significant impact and helping to fulfill our mission of healing trauma for generations to come.
