Taz Steele is a Community Support Worker at The Community Lighthouse, dedicated to uplifting marginalized communities and advocating for mental well-being. Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Taz’s upbringing in the U.S. South instilled a strong sense of community, resilience, and collective care, values that deeply influence their work.
Taz holds a degree from WCU in Cullowhee, North Carolina, and is passionate about creating safe, empowering spaces where individuals feel seen, heard, and supported. Their work at TCL reflects a commitment to ensuring everyone has access to compassionate care and the tools to thrive.
Outside of work, Taz enjoys traveling, hiking, cooking, and spending time with loved ones. They find joy in tending land, enjoying a nice cozy fire, and discovering new music. Taz shares their life with a 10-year-old pit mix, who also serves as their Emotional Support Animal, adding an extra layer of connection and care to their daily life.
