Since 1994, The Community Lighthouse has been committed to helping children and families find healing, resilience, and happiness. Founded by Mark Ferriegel, LPCC, and Charlotte Knauber, LPCC, we began with a mission to support children dealing with life’s challenges through therapeutic play. Today, we offer a full range of mental health services for children, teens, adults, and families, with a focus on meeting each person’s unique needs.
Our purpose has always been rooted in one powerful “why”: to support healing, empower growth, and inspire lasting change. We believe that trauma doesn’t define a person—but healing can transform a life. This belief drives everything we do.
Led with Heart: Pierce Ferriegel, CEO
When Pierce Ferriegel stepped into the role of CEO in 2013, he brought more than business acumen—he brought a deep passion for making a difference. Growing up around The Community Lighthouse, Pierce always dreamed of changing the world. That dream became a calling: to lead with compassion, foster meaningful employment, and expand access to quality mental health care throughout New Mexico.
As a servant leader, Pierce centers his leadership on personal growth and empowerment. His guiding principle is simple but powerful: when you invest in your team, they invest in those they serve. Under his leadership, we’ve cultivated a workplace where mental health professionals are valued, supported, and inspired—because we know this translates into exceptional care for our clients.
