Functional Family Support

Welcome to our Functional Family Support page. Every family has moments when communication feels hard, conflict builds, or goals are difficult to follow through on. Our team is here to help families practice skills, strengthen relationships, and build healthier day-to-day interactions.

Functional Family Support, also known as FFS, is designed to bring support into everyday family life. Through trained Interventionists, families receive structured, family therapy informed support in the home, community, or office setting.

Why Functional Family Support Matters

Functional Family Support helps families take the goals they are working on and practice them in real life. Families may already be participating in therapy, CCSS, or other services, and FFS can work alongside those supports.

FFS does not replace therapy or CCSS. Instead, it adds another layer of support to help families strengthen communication, reduce conflict, practice new skills, and follow through on goals outside of traditional sessions.

Practicing Skills in Real Life
Learning new skills is important, but practicing them during everyday family moments is where change begins. Functional Family Support helps families use new tools at home, in the community, and during daily routines.
Building Better Communication
Sometimes it can be hard for family members to understand each other. FFS helps families practice healthier ways to talk, listen, and respond so there is less confusion and more connection.
Reducing Conflict
Every family faces challenges. Functional Family Support helps families slow things down, work through conflict, and find better ways to solve problems together.
Following Through on Goals
Families often have goals they are working toward in therapy, CCSS, school, or other services. FFS helps families stay focused, practice consistency, and build routines that support progress.

Support Where Family Life Happens

Functional Family Support is designed to meet families where they are. Services may take place in the home or community, depending on the needs of the family.

An Interventionist works with the family to support engagement, motivation, communication, monitoring and support, and follow-through. This support is provided under clinical supervision and can be coordinated with therapy, CCSS, and other members of the care team when appropriate.

How FFS Works With Other Services

Families may receive Functional Family Support while also participating in therapy, CCSS, or other supports.

Therapy helps address clinical treatment needs.

CCSS helps support daily functioning, skill-building, routines, and resources.

Functional Family Support helps families practice structured change in everyday family life.

Together, these services can help families receive the right support in the right setting at the right time.

Positive Changes Ahead

Our goal is to help families feel more connected, supported, and confident in their daily interactions. Functional Family Support is not about judging families or focusing only on problems. It is about helping families build on their strengths, practice new skills, and create healthier patterns together.

With the right support, families can improve communication, reduce conflict, and make progress one step at a time.
